Concept
A sanctuary among the trees — Tree in the House is a vision of peaceful coexistence between architecture and nature. This four-story cylindrical glass home is built around a living fir tree, offering a modern space for reflection, inspiration, and inner calm. The project reimagines what it means to live not just near nature, but within it.
Design
At the heart of the structure is a white spiral staircase that gently wraps around the tree, guiding visitors through each level while offering uninterrupted, panoramic views of the forest. The fully transparent façade removes the barrier between interior and exterior, creating a living experience that changes with the light, the seasons, and the forest itself.
Sustainability
Sustainability is central to the design.
The structure features:
Transparent solar panels to generate clean energy
A Tesla Powerwall for storage
Rainwater purification systems
Passive ventilation for natural airflow
The house leaves a minimal ecological footprint while preserving modern comforts.
Vision
Originally designed for the forests near Almaty, Kazakhstan, Tree in the House continues to gain global attention as a prototype for sustainable, immersive living. With plans for future versions — including potential builds in California — the project reflects a future where architecture respects, preserves, and celebrates the natural world.
